Dorothy's Garden - Summer in Phoenix

Just have a few pictures to share to date. It is just no fun to work outside in the heat. The hottest July in Phoenix since they startedkeeping records. All I do each day is hand water the pots of herbs and baskets of flowers and keep the bird bath clean and full of fresh water. The rest of the garden is watered automatically each day. Double click on any picture then choose full screen or slideshow to read captions. Enjoy!!!

This is the first time I've looked at your blog. Your gardening is truly inspirational! Thank you for taking so many pictures and sharing your experience.

Dorothy...looking at your slides has given me the courage to jump into SFG. I live in the Gila Valley (SE AZ) and have tried many times the normal type garden with mixed success. I fight clay soil and most of the time it wins. After viewing the success you have in a hotter climate than our's (we are generally 10 degrees cooler than Phx.) I'm motivated to get with it. Thanks. I'm very interested in more details about your husband's drip system. Could you point me to more details? (dennismary@yahoo.com)

Dorothy, your garden is fabulous! I'm going into my first cool weather gardening experience. Summer was not great for me. I think some of the trouble is I don't get to spend much time in the garden daily because I go off to work. I'm curious about your shade structures with the black flat tops. These are fabulous. Can you tell me what you're using. I could use this in my garden in the summer months. You've also inspired me with the PVC cross bars. This would solve my cuke troubles. Thank you for writing such a great blog!
